Key facts

  • Two-part design: a six-wheeled, van-sized ground vehicle carries a detachable two-seat electric aircraft inside its rear section and recharges it. Owners drive to an open site, release the aircraft for a short flight, then dock it back in the vehicle.
  • About 7,000 pre-orders were reported in April 2026, including 600 from dealers in the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait.
  • The Guangzhou plant covers 120,000 square meters (about 1.3 million sq ft) and is designed for up to 10,000 aircraft a year; the first unit came off the line on 3 November 2025.
  • Aridge was renamed from XPeng AeroHT in October 2025, has raised about $1 billion and is reported to be preparing a Hong Kong IPO.
  • Inclusion on a CAAC compliance list in July 2026 can speed up review, but it is not a type certificate.
