Key facts

  • Three-wheeled car whose wings, tail and propellers stow inside the body for driving; switching modes takes about three minutes.
  • Sold as an Experimental Amateur-Built aircraft: owners build 51% of it in about a week at a Samson Builder Assist Center, and Samson finishes the rest.
  • Hybrid-electric drive: a gasoline engine runs a generator that powers the wheels on the road and the propellers in the air.
  • The original prototype first flew in November 2023; the design was then revised with two folding propellers and larger wings.
  • Samson reported more than 2,300 reservations from 57 countries at the time of its first flight; reservations are free and non-binding.
